Paradox Pottery

In 1971, Paradox Pottery was founded by Jim Whalen after graduating from East Carolina University. After teaching for 5 years in Charlotte, the pottery studio was moved to the mountains of North Carolina. “The creative impulse is made up of curiosity and desire. Its manifestation in clay is defined as the process of exploration and refinement. Working both these processes leads to creative evolution – the essence of which is spiritual in nature.”
